Infinix has just launched the Infinix Note 12 budget phone in India. The company’s new Note series has been launched in collaboration with Marvel Studios and the device comes in a special box to celebrate the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness movie.
With the starting price set at Rs 11,999, the Infinix Note 12 is all set to take on the likes of the phones from brands like Realme and Xiaomi. In this article, we will be comparing the features and specifications of the newly launched Infinix Note 12 with two other popular budget phones in the sub Rs 15,000 segment, the Redmi 10 Prime (2022) and Realme 9i.

Starting off with the pricing, the Infinix Note 12 starts at Rs 11,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant and the 6GB+128GB version costs Rs 12,999. It is available on Flipkart. The Redmi 10 Prime 4GB+64GB costs Rs 11,999 and the 8GB+128GB model costs Rs 14,999. The Redmi 10 Prime is available on Amazon, Mi.com, and Mi Stores across India. Lastly, the Realme 9i starts at Rs 13,499 for the 4GB+64GB, the 4GB+128GB variant costs Rs 14,999 and the 6GB+128GB model costs Rs 15,999. Infinix Note 12 vs Redmi 10 Prime vs Realme 9i: Design
The Infinix Note 12 comes with a mystic matte finish on the back with a flat frame on the side. The phone measures 76.6 x 164.43 x 8.03 mm and weighs Force Black and Jewel Blue colour options. To the front, the device comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The Redmi 10 Prime offers EVOL design language and the phone comes with a matte finish on Phantom Black and Astral White colour options and a glossy finish on the Bifrost Blue. The phone weighs 192 grams and is 9.6mm thick.
The Realme 9i comes with a stripe-like texture on the back with an 8-layer optical coating. The phone is available in Prism Black and Prism Blue colour options. The phone measures 8.4mm thick and 190 grams.

Infinix shines here as it is one only one to offer an AMOLED display. However, the Redmi and Realme counterparts offer a 90Hz refresh rate screen.
The Infinix Note 12 comes with a 6.7-inch Full HD+AMOLED display, 92% screen to body ratio, 60Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, 1000nits peak brightness, Widevine L1 support, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front.
The Redmi 10 Prime flaunts a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LCD panel with a 90Hz screen refresh rate and it also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front. The Realme 9i, on other hand, features a 6.6-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display and a 90Hz refresh rate with up to 400 nits brightness.

The Infinix Note 12 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 processor with up to 2GHz clock speed and it runs on XOS 10 based on Android 11 with an Android 12 update expected to arrive in August 2022. The phone comes with 4/6GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB eMCP storage.
The Redmi 10 Prime is also powered by MediaTek Helio G88 with up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB eMMC storage. The phone runs on MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11. On the other hand, the Realme 9i is powered by a Snapdragon 680 SoC with up to 2.4GHz clock speed, up to 6GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. The phone runs on Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11.
While the Infinix and Redmi are powered by the same chips, the Realme comes with a Snapdragon chipset with faster clock speed and faster storage as well.
Infinix Note 12 vs Redmi 10 Prime vs Realme 9i: Cameras
In terms of camera, the Infinix Note 12 comes with a 50MP main camera with f/1,6 aperture, a 2MP depth sensor, and an AI lens. To the front, there is a 16MP snapper for selfies and video calls. The Redmi 10 Prime offers a 50MP f/1.8 main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, it offers an 8Mp shooter.
The Realme 9i comes with a triple-camera setup with a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture along with a 2MP B&W portrait lens and a 2MP macro shooter. It features a 16MP front-facing camera with an f/2.1 aperture. While all phones offer a 50MP main camera, the addition of the ultra-wide-angle lens on the Redmi 10 Prime, does stand out from the rest.

The Infinix Note 12 draws power from the 5,000mAh battery and it supports 33W Type-C fast charging. The Redmi 10 Prime is backed by a large 6,000mAh battery with support for Type-C 18W fast charging (22.5W in-box charger). Lastly, the Realme 9i packs a 5,000mAh battery unit with 33W Type-C Dart Charge support. While Redmi offers a bigger battery, it falls short when it comes to fast charging capabilities.
Infinix Note 12 vs Redmi 10 Prime vs Realme 9i: Verdict
The Infinix Note 12 is one of the few phones under Rs 12,000 to offer an AMOLED display. However, it misses out on the high refresh rate screen. For those who prefer watching content on the phone, the Infinix Note 12 will be a great device as it also comes with Widevine L1 support for streaming HD content. For those who prefer cameras, the Redmi 10 Pro does offer a better camera setup compared to the other two. While the rest of the specs are similar across the trio, the affordable price tag of the Infinix Note 12 gives it an advantage over the others here.
